Everything in Place sessions - St Paul's Centre

FREE to attend ‘Everything in Place’ sessions delivered by St Cuthbert’s Hospice are due to start at St. Paul’s Community Centre, St. Paul’s Gardens, Spennymoor, DL16 7LS.  Sessions will commence Tuesday 4th April 1:00pm- 3.00pm, and run the first Tuesday of each month for six months with the first session about wills, why you need one and exploring some of the ‘what might happen’ scenarios if you do not have one.

The session are informal and designed to help dispel myths and break the taboos that surround the topics. Other topics covered include power of attorney, anticipating future care decisions, funeral planning, the increase of funeral poverty, organ donation and tackling difficult conversations. Louise Johnson, Community Liaison Officer at St Cuthbert’s Hospice, said: “Please come along and find out about the importance of getting your paperwork in order while you still have full mental capacity, which can so easily be lost by illness or accident. We understand this is not easy to think about, but we can support you to get ‘Everything in Place’ and get on living your life to the full.”

The sessions successfully ran last year at the St Paul’s Centre, Spennymoor, and were well received by attendees. Maureen Aspey, Chair of Directors at St Pauls Centre said: “We have found the Everything In Place sessions to be of great interest to many people in our community. It can be a daunting prospect to consider your own future but the sessions make it easy to discuss these topics. Those who have attended have really taken some good information away and found them very worthwhile.”
